International Jazz Day 2019 – Capri

The season of concerts opens at the Centro Caprense on Saturday 27 April 2019 at 18.00 with an international event : International Jazz Day.

The Isle of Capri, the Caprense Center Ignazio Cerio and Middle Sea Jazz will join thousands of events in 190 countries to present a concert that wants to celebrate International Jazz Day .

In 2011, UNESCO established International Jazz Day for “the recognized diplomatic role of jazz in uniting people in all corners of the globe”.

 The Capri International Jazz Day event is sponsored by Middle Sea Jazz under the patronage of Centro Caprense Ignazio Cerio. It is produced by Lana Sorrento, which received a special designation from UNESCO as a special presenter of the event. In a recent interview, Sorrento stated: “Jazz is the only musical form that does not come exclusively from a race or a nationality, but rather from a combination of different races, legacies and traditions. I believe that jazz is an international language, an art and a symbol of global unity that should be expressed to all peoples “. Saturday, April 27th at 6.00 pm, the well-known American jazz artist, WG (www.middleseajazz.com) will present 90 minutes of classic American jazz standards in the relaxing setting of the concert hall of Centro Caprense Ignazio Cerio.
